I love this tip - it's been helpful many times in the past - one tip: you have to rename the .docx file to .zip first.

FYI, MS Office XML files (DOCX, et al.) are nothing more than containers that can be unzipped. So if someone gives you a DOCX with an embedded graphic you need to alter in some way, simply use your unzipping tool to deconstruct the DOCX container.
