To anyone who intends to use an old Adobe Creative Suite under the upcoming macOS 10.14,

Apple will drop 32-bit support in macOS 10.14. The current macOS version 10.13.4 shows (vaguely-worded) warnings when you open any 32-bit application. The main applications of the most recent CS6 (i.e., the latest creative tools available for purchase before the CC subscription model) are in fact 64 bit. But some auxiliary applications, such as the license utility and the uninstaller, are still 32 bit and therefore wonât run under macOS 10.14. Possibly, the incompatible license utility will also shut down the main applications under 10.14, who knows.

The not so terribly obvious solution I found by chance is to perform a platform swap, which Adobe offers at any time. See https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/exchange-product-language-os.html <https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/exchange-product-language-os.html>.

Simply, register your CS license for your Adobe ID if you havenât already, and contact the Adobe support requesting a platform swap. They will revoke your Mac license and give you a Windows license. CS6 still runs fine under Windows 10.

You would want to do this before upgrading to macOS 10.14 this fall since you wonât be able to run the 32-bit uninstaller under 10.14 any more.

Best regards,
Thorsten
