It seems to be a fading thing. Possible reasons:

* The middle initial is just a letter that does not stand for a name.
* Credit/Debit cards no longer have one.
* Screen readers will see a sentence end and pause or stop.
* A recruiter's native language does not use the period after an initial.

Never underestimate the power of a weak recruiter to wreck a rÃsumÃ. Also, never overestimate the power of a strong recruiter to polish a rÃsumÃ.

Seeking opinions.

We're bringing in a contract tech writer for something. I see the
resumes and participate in the interview process.

I note that one of the resumes has the applicant's name across the top
of the page - first name, middle initial, last name. The middle
initial is without a period.

Apparently, this is not uncommon. Have you folks seen this often?

Thanks,

Bob
