The following should work:
Use your word-processor to create whatever text you want. Then put
all text into 12-point (10 cpi, if you're WordPerfecting) Courier or
some such 10 character/inch FIXED-SPACE type. Set your left margin
at 0, your right at 6.5". (Indents from these defaults are okay,
too.) Then save the file as DOS TEXT (or ASCII, or whatever your
word processor calls it) WITH LINE BREAKS (carriage returns) at line

Using that procedure should always work, though (of course) the text at the
other end won't have the APPEARANCE of the original.
