In answer to Dan Lupo,

We recently had our cubicle walls shortened from 6 feet
in height to a corporation standard of 4.5 feet. This
caused quite a stir at the time. The taller walls had
provided a bit more isolation from the noise and traffic
of the office. We were told the shorter walls would
enhance networking and improve productivity.

Right or wrong, the walls remain shorter and networking
hasn't increased. We just sit more and go to great
lengths to avoid unwanted eye contact.

Productivity increased, because of a layoff, not because
of shorter walls with more networking.

Still looking on the bright side, and away from his
