About 20 years ago, I noticed that some teen agers were using
"goes" or "go" instead of "said." For example, "I go ......" or

"said" in speech. Is this only in California or all over the country?

This use of the word "go" is frequently heard in parts of the UK.
Other parts of the UK use "come" in the same fashion: "He comes to me,
'quote'". Ain't language great!
