Not that I'll feel free to go ahead and
download the xxx.1 or Good Times files we've been warned about on this list,
just to clarify.

** Yes. It's a virus if it replicates itself. If it just climbs aboard
looking innocent and wrecks stuff, it's called a Trojan horse.

Executable files are responsible for transmitting most viruses, but
I think some are smart enough to dwell elsewhere.
