It depends on what kind of writing you want to do when you graduate. (By the
way, what's the difference between information systems and
computer science?)

I really think the key to later getting a job is to be able to
write well and be able to show that you can write well with
some portfolio material.

If the college doesn't offer tech writing courses, what about
all the tech writing classes available outside of the
university? STC conferences, other seminars for tech
writers, etc.
