The only Performa PowerMac is the 6115, a very nice package at 60 MHz,
8/350 CD and a ton of software for $2400 here. If you can buy it for
$1700, let me know where the store is located.

Sorry, I goofed. I should have written "52xx." It's a variant of the LC 5200
which is a PowerPC 603 chip at 75MHz, 15" monitor in one unit with CD-ROM,
resembling the Apple AV Monitor in appearance. (First CPU I've ever seen on a
tilt/swivel base. Wonder what that does to the CD?) I have to admit I haven't
seen one live, just in pictures, but Apple is claiming a $1799 price on it,
which means street should range $1700-1850. Your best bet to see it might be to
check an education dealer, as they get the LC's and the LC's typically ship
before the equivalent Performas, so the Performas may not be on display yet.
It's a new box, after all.

I keep saying xx in the model number, because Performas get different model
numbers depending upon the bundle. For example I've seen 6115, 6117, and 6125
Performas. Same CPU, simply different SW and HW bundled with it. It's Apple's
way of trying to differentiate products for the various Performa outlets. Also,
it helps companies like Best Buy keep their "lowest price" guarantee, by giving
them the "that's not a 6115, it's a 6117" excuse.
