Greetings...

A minor debate has arisen between our engineering and marketing divisions.
We're planning the release of a new software product consisting of a core
product and a number of 'add-ons'. My approach with the documentation is to
provide a single user's manual covering the core product, then a second
user's manual to cover the remaining areas (some of which are highly
specialised and will be useful to a small segment of our users). Keep the
pubs small(ish), sweet and modular. Marketing feels one large publication
covering everything is the way to go.

Anyone had similiar experiences? Like to tell me about it? I'm currently
writing up a 'for & against' case for my approach of multiple pubs.

...cheers!
