I believe I've posted what amounts to this same request before, about a
year ago, perhaps, on techwr-l.

Any number of times I've salivated over openings in...well, California,
mostly, only to learn upon contacting the company in question that they
were not interesting in international applicants (read, in most cases:

Employers, or people posting on behalf of them, it would be TREMENDOUSLY
useful for Canadians and other non-American would-be employees of your
companies if you indicated whether or not you are interested in
international candidates for the position in question. Whenever the answer
to that question can be determined. My personal preference, when I see
what looks like a great match for my skills somewhere in the U.S., is to
be let down immediately rather than later, after getting my hopes much
up that much higher.

If anyone's wondering what the proximal provocation for this message was,
'twas the opening at Aspect Development Inc. in Mountain View, California.
However, as a result of something that happened quite recently -- which
involves Europe, not the U.S. -- I am not a complete cynic! Stay tuned...
