One of the topics we've been discussing is the lack of written
documentation. I'm sure some of you already know this, but in case
some of you, like me, had missed this........

When I installed Microsoft Office I did the full install....or so I
thought. Today at work, we were working on PowerPoint presentations
when I noticed that one person had a whole bunch of clip art that I
didn't. "Oh, yeah," he said, "Office has a whole bunch of extra stuff
on the CD Rom that it doesn't install. Check it out." So tonight I
did. Holy cow!!! There must have been close to 100 megs of extra clip
art, photos (spectacular ones), movie clips, sound clips, AND . . . .
and this is the amazing one . . . .the entire manual is online. It's
over 5 megs in size! It's basically a hypertext manual. I would have
never discovered this on my own! I just couldn't believe it!!! I just
had to tell someone about my "discovery"!

Maybe Microsoft mentioned this during the installation but I sure
did not see it. I made a similar discovery on the PageMaker CD today,
also. So I guess the moral of this story is that a) we need to snoop
a little more, and b) the manufacturer's ought to thump us over the
head to get our attention about the extra goodies they seem to be
fond of adding via the CD ROMs.
