RE>>Antonym of Hyperbole 6/5/96

Would it be hyperbole for me to say that we have wasted far too much time
discussing what is not a very important technical writing topic and probably
shouldn't be brought up in this forum at all?

A hyperbole is a literary device as well, Matt, like a simile, metaphor, etc.

don't believe a there exists a "true" antonym. Understatement, as opposite to
hyperbole as a yellow light is to a green light, is probably as close to
perfect as we can find.

Thanks a million
