In spring semester ('97) I will be teaching a course on documentation for
ISO 9000 and other quality programs. It is part of Metro State's Technical
Communications program. I'm looking for a good textbook that addresses
the system-centered requirements for documentation within a quality
program - internal as well as customer docs.

I have searched the ASQC catalog and find only "Documenting Quality
for ISO 9000 and Other Industry Standards" by Gary MacLean. I used
this last time I taught the class, and, while it has a lot of useful info, it
covers only ISO 9000, is very formal, and emphatic that his is The Only
Way. (For example, he likes the 2.11.3 form of organization, and all
chapters have identical sub-headings.) I would like to find an alternative.

If you have, have used, or know of a good book in this area, please let
me know off-line. If there's any interest, I'll post a summary of responses
to the List.

Thanks -
Miki (the Multifaceted)
