While I use HiJaak for specialized screen captures (such as capturing a
cursor), for most screen captures I prefer the following method (Win 3.1x or
95):

1) Press the Print Screen button or Alt+Print Screen (to capture the active
window).

2) Open Paint (yes, the unglamorous Microsoft application) and press
Ctrl+V.

3) If needed, select the area you want saved (using the Select tool).

4) Go to the Edit menu and choose Copy To. Save the selection as a 16
Color Bitmap.

This method is quick and produces very small files. In addition, the
resulting images actually look better than similar ones I took with HiJaak.
Certainly this method doesn't replace the need for a capture program, but
it is useful, especially when you need to capture a lot of images (such as
dialog boxes) in a short amount of time.
