document to a page number in another?<<

Sean, this is not possible with WinWord2, but there is a workaround :
- In the source document (let's call it SOURCE.DOC) :
- Put the insertion point at the beginning of the paragraph you want to
refer to.
- Insert a bookmark "Here".
- Insert a {PAGEREF Here} field anywhere.
- Keep the PAGEREF field selected and insert a "Ref" bookmark.
- Lock the field.
- In the destination document :
- Insert a {INCLUDE C:\\DIR\\SUBDIR\\SOURCE.DOC Ref} field.

If you don't lock the field in SOURCE, the INCLUDE field will only import
PAGEREF "as is", and the result will be the page number... in the
destination document !

The last problem to solve is that the PAGEREF field will appear in the
source document while you don't need it : you can hide it or colorize it in
white, but then you should force the character attributes in the INCLUDE
field if you want the result to appear in the destination document.

Hope this helps.
