How it all began

I've only recently started in TW and I kinda "fell" into the job - I was
working here doing data processing and looking for a "graduate" IT job, when
this one was advertised. I have no specific TW experience, and my degree was
in Chemistry and Management Studies. Oh, and I worked in McDonalds for a
while.

So how did everyone else get started? And then what happened? I'd be
especially keen to hear from any Brits out there as that's where I'm based.
But I'd also like to know what the "normal" (if there is such a thing)
career path is elsewhere.

I'll post a summary if there's enough response.

Chris
