Does anyone know if anti-biotics or any other medication cause "flare ups" of
the carpal tunnel/tendonitis condition?

I can't answer the question directly, but have come up against another
cause of carpal tunnel -- sleeping. I developed carpal tunnel in both
wrists simultaneously. A specialist in carpal tunnel at Penn State
University Hospital, Hershey, said my case developed because I slept wrong,
and he was right!

I was sleeping on my right side, with my left hand directly under my head
and my right hand shoved underneath the pillow. My weight of my head was
blocking blood flow into the wrists, plus putting additional straining
weight on them. By wearing uncomfortable Velcro splints on my wrists, I
learned to sleep with my hands at my side. The carpal tunnel vanished after
2 weeks and I took no medicine to relieve the pain.
