Laurie Clark wondered about scaling bitmap images (e.g.,
screenshots) without destroying their quality. By
convenient coincidence, PC Magazine (March 4/97) has a full
article on bitmap editors for producing images for the Web;
many of these tools work quite well for other purposes,
such as capturing screens. Check out the article for
several options. Until you do, they recommend "Smooth
Scaling" (WexTech, 1-800-939-8324, 1-212-949-9595,
www.wextech.com) as a good rescaling product; a few
techwhirlers have recommended this product too.
