SENIOR TECHNICAL WRITER - Programming Documentation

Responsibilities: Develop programming documentation for application
developers who are creating client applications or customizing our client
applications. Take responsibility for our application developer's guide,
client customizing guide, programming language reference, resource editor
guide, and related release notes. As the product grows in depth and
sophistication, enhance the existing programming documentation and develop
additional documentation as needed. Estimate and maintain schedules. Gather
information by interviewing software engineers and reading engineering
specs. Participate in project meetings. Participate in shaping the future of
our documentation as a member of a small technical publications group.

Qualifications: At least three years experience writing for a technical
audience. At least one year developing programming documentation. An
understanding of client/server technology and object-oriented programming.
Familiarity with API methods, Visual Basic, C/C++, and SQL. Ability to write
clearly and succinctly about technical concepts. Ability to work both
independently and as a responsible member of a team. Working knowledge of
FrameMaker. BA or equivalent. Pluses include experience testing, reading,
and writing code examples, experience authoring help, familiarity with Java,
the Tooltalk and AppleEvents protocols, OLE Automation, RoboHELP, Word
macros, and Windows 95.
