I just got Acrobat for the purpose of making out docs available on line.
I first printed from Word to the PDFWriter driver. The results were
very disappointing. It substituted strange fonts (even serif for sans),
headers and footers only printed on some pages, and in the TOC
apparently a monospaced font was used but kerning was attempted (looked
really wierd) and some of the page # leaders were omitted. I got the
same results whether or not I used the substitute fonts option.

Then I printed the doc to a PS file and ran it through the Distiller.
The results were flawless. It actually looked better than the original.
The Multiple Master fonts it used were beautiful.

I suppose the difference was Word. Since it has so many other bugs, I
wouldn't be surprised. Any thoughts?
