To answer some questions:

The platform is a PC running Windows 95 and Word 7.

Without ATM present, Word (which I must use) substitutes Arial for the
PS font (the only one I use in these docs) for both display and
printing.

The PS font is not one of the standard ones that comes resident in most
PS printers. Besides, the programmers do not have a PS printer. They
have a basic HP using PCL.

On the positive side, I found on the Adobe web site that ATM 4.0 is now
available and for a limited time it's just $50.
