I agree with "version 2.4 or later."

I think the solution comes from looking at it from the other angle.
Common usage suggests "version 2.4 or earlier" over "2.4 or *lower*" (or
even "2.4 or *older*"). Because of this, I would opt for "version 2.4
or later."
