I was an Interleaf user for years in Central and Upstate New York. Having
been out of the business for over a year now, (had baby, moved to CT due to
husbands job) I'm finally back in the industry. I looked and looked for an
Interleaf Tech Writing position. None were to be found. Not even as a
contract position.
My question is this... I've been monitoring the TECHWR-L list and notice
many people talking about Framemaker. When we chose Interleaf, Framemaker
was not that good (although this was nearly 8 years ago). Has Frame really
become the software to use? Currently, I am writing in the MSWord
environment and hate doing large documents. Interleaf was great with the
management of books and chapters.
Also, Interleaf incorporated Worldview for electronic distribution, does
Frame have a similar tool for distribution and web work? I'd appreciate the
input. I'm hoping to have some influence in choosing software for the large
volumes of software manuals we do.
