I have a problem getting a document onto the web. I am sure someone out there
knows the answer to my problem.

I have a document in pagemaker that I need to put up on our website. It is the
graphics that I am having a problem with.

Currently, my documents (manuals and other instructional info) are created in
WORD 7 on my PC. I use HTML Transit to convert them to HTML. If there are
graphics, I embed them in the WORD file and Transit creates a GIF file with the
graphic, creates the IMG tag, etc.

I have inherited a pagemaker document which needs to be put on our website. It
is the graphics that concern me. The document is in pagemaker on the MAC. The
graphics are conceptual diagrams of network configurations. They show little
PCs, scanners, cash registers, card readers, etc., in various configurations
with network hardware. Each little figure is in a separate EPS file on the
Mac. The person who created this document has linked the little graphics on
his pagemaker page and then drawn the lines showing the network connections
using pagemaker. I am sort of stumped here.

I have saved the pagemaker page as an EPS file, but can't do anything with it.
WORD will embed the EPS file, but HTML transit can't convert it to GIF. (Is
there anything that will convert EPS files into another format?) I tried
scanning the printed graphic as one graphic. The scanner is on the Mac. I can
save it as a TIFF file. This can then be converted to a GIF, but, it goes all
weird when I try to resize it. Is there a trick to scanning that I don't know
about? Or are TIFFs different than GIFs?

I consider myself to be graphically challenged, barely knowledgeable enough to
do simple things. I am not very experienced on the Mac or with pagemaker, so
you see, I am in trouble all around. Any info would be totally appreciated.

Thanks,

Janet
