they don't seem to worry about balance when they do commercial audio cd
art..
the disk is CLAMPED in place, not just set on top of a spindle like a
phonograph record.
off hand, i believe a warped disk (that could be perfectly balanced both in
static and dynamic realms)
is a worse problem.. this because the reader has to track the object
(similar with recorders).

I was wondering about that. At the RPMs used in CD-ROMs, even a little
off-center weight (like the weight of a label) would be significant.
