David and Keith,

I think Adobe has distributed the Acrobat Reader to get us all hooked on the technology, and has intentionally created it with limited functionality. The Acrobat Exchange (which costs ~ $400) allows you to connect to any given page in a PDF document. It's a smart move for them.

Frame has done the same thing with the FrameReader and FrameViewer except that the FrameReader cannot be distributed freely as Acrobat can be. Maybe this will change now that Frame is an Adobe product.
