From the Windows NT 4.0 Help:

To see the hierarchy of folders on a disk drive

1 Click the Start button.
2 Point to Programs, and then click Windows NT Explorer.
3 Click a folder on the left side of the window to display its contents
on the right.

Click the plus signs (+) to display more folders.

So I guess the other one is called the minus signs (-) ...
