Hi--

I forgot to include in my email information about the uniqueness of
the FORUM 2000 conference.

The originators of the FORUM concept created this unique conference
around the notion that the best part of any conference is the
networking that takes place between, after, and sometimes during!:-),
conference sessions. They felt that this socializing and networking
was where you really learned something, met some great people, and
had fun while you are at it.

SO, the FORUM concept is that of one long coffee break! Literally.

Typically, the conference takes place in a large room divided into
ten or so stations. Every hour or so, teams of activators go to
their stations and have something similar to a poster session.
Each activator says a few words and then the rest of the session is a
lively discussion of the activators's topics (and sometimes the
thread moves off topic, but that's okay at FORUM).

If it looks like a particular topic was well attended and that there
was much more that people wanted to say, the group moves off to a
breakout room and has a more in-depth discussion.

Also, in the middle of the large room are usually tables and chairs
where people who want to have more focused conversations migrate. You
can walk around and join in any of them. There's always something to
drink and eat, too.

And after hours, there's some wonderful event that many people
attend. In 1995, we had dinner in a German beer hall, saw a musical,
among other fun festivities.

I think the theme needs to reflect the uniqueness of this conference.
It's a long conversation.

Cheers, Nancy
