An anonymous techwhirler asked for suggestions on rewording

How about: Select what you want to see by touching that
choice in the "View selection" area.

It's simple and informal, but since you're talking
touchscreen, I'd assume this refers to a public display.
That being the case, simple and informal is the way to go.
