Just read review of *Hiring Independent Contractors: The
Employer's Legal Guide* (publisher Nolo, www.nolo.com) in Independent
Perspective, newsletter of STC's C&IC SIG.
Explains Eric's problems--his client must've read it! Book urges
employers to get copies of licenses, cerificates of business names,
client contact, proof of insurance, proof of ownership of equipment &
materials necessary, articles of incorporation...*plus* a phone call to
the Sec'y of State's office to make sure the corporation is not defunct!!
That's it,
