Hi all,

...that can read the embedded index entries in a Word document. I want to
be able to leave all of my documents in Word, since my content owners all
use Word exclusively. Also, we have legacy documents in Word that are over
500 pages long that really need work on their indexes.

Interleaf can read the index entries, but I think that the text needs to be
imported into Interleaf first, and also it costs $$$.

Do any of you know of a tool that can read Word index entries in within a
document in native Word format and generate an index?

If not, can VBA in Word 97 modify the page number field to include three
levels; volume, page and chapter?

Thanks for your help?

Kathryn
