TECHNICAL WRITER

Responsibilities: Write user and reference manuals, installation and release
notes, and online help or HTML files. Index manuals, make screen captures,
and perform other desktop publishing tasks. Gather information by
interviewing software engineers, reading engineering specs, and using
software. Participate in shaping the future of our documentation as a member
of a growing technical publications team.

Qualifications: Recent college graduate (or recent graduate of a technical
communication training program) with demonstrated ability to write both
conceptual material and step-by-step instructions. Ability to grasp
technical material and write clearly and succinctly about technical
concepts. Ability to adhere to a style guide and revise one's writing on the
basis of editorial comments. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines,
and work as a responsible member of a team. BA or equivalent. Preference
will be given to candidates who have knowledge of one or more of the
following: FrameMaker, RoboHELP, HTML/Web publishing, and Adobe Acrobat/PDF.
Pluses include familiarity with programming or graphics.
