One source on this would be Karen Schriver, Dynamics in Document Design,
page 509.  She quotes several other sources in the sidebar.  BTW, Ms.
Shriver will be presenting at the Online Conference in Seattle this
February. I'm going to ask her to sign my copy of her book!  Oh, cut me some
slack.  I've only been in the business a coupla years...
