Proposal reviewers for the FORUM 2000 conference, to be held June 12-14 in the year 2000 at the Commonwealth Centre in London.
WHAT IS FORUM 2000?
FORUM is an international technical communication conference. First held in 1975, it takes place once every five years, each time in a different country. The conference is sponsored by INTECOM (International Council for Technical Communication), which is registered in Switzerland. INTECOM is an "umbrella" organization (a "society of societies") whose members are professional societies from all around the world. The purpose of INTECOM is to share information among its members on education and standards as well as perspectives on the communication profession.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR REVIEWING PROPOSALS?
The FORUM 2000 Programme Committee seeks individuals with one or more of the following:
* Knowledge of trends and issues in the technical communication profession
* Significant expertise in one or more areas of technical communication
* Previous experience as a presenter at a FORUM or similar conference
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in FORUM's unique "Idea Market" form of presentation.
WHAT WILL REVIEWERS BE EXPECTED TO DO?
Reviewers can expect to receive no more than 8 proposals to review, between March and July 1999. Each proposal will be no longer than one page. You need only respond to the FORUM 2000 Programme Committee on whether or not you recommend the session being proposed and why. You will, of course, receive more explicit directions at the appropriate time, as well as a letter acknowledging your important contribution to this international technical communication effort.
