Anne,

I've never encountered the PDF file size problem you mentioned. Hmmmm.

Are you saying that you're running Netscape Communicator 5 Beta software?
Odd things happen with beta software. I prefer to let others debug beta
software for me. Things remain more pleasant for me this way.

I just checked the Netscape site and my Communicator 4.51 software is
Netscape's latest released production browser. To be certain that I could
read large .pdf files with Communicator 4.51, I accessed two large (2 MB
each) Extensis .PDF files, both jam-packed with colorful text and graphics.
Both worked fine from page 1 to page xxx.

I'm wondering if you've somehow installed the Acrobat Reader plugin for
Microsoft IE but not for your latest Netscape. In fact, it's possible
the Acrobat plugin is in your older version of Netscape but somehow was
not migrated to your latest version. You can easily check this. My
Netscape Communicator 4.51's Acrobat pdf plugin is found in the path:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\NETSCAPE\COMMUNICATOR\PROGRAM\plugins\nppdf32.dll

Check your Netscape folder to ensure that you have the nppdf32.dll plugin
in your Netscape folder. If not, reinstall Acrobat software (reader in
my case) and point it to your Communicator program/plugins folder.

Perhaps 96 MB of RAM (Win95 OSR2) helps. Don't know. I recently updated
the Adobe Acrobat reader software to the latest version, Acrobat 4. Have
you tried updating to Acrobat 4 reader? Visit the Adobe site at:

http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/

The old reader plugin worked fine for my older versions of Netscape.

Good luck!

Roy
