Hi everyone,
Hiring again - we are growing like crazy AND moving people into new roles.
Upper
management noticed that the doc team consists of people who "know the whole
system" (as opposed to just a piece) and there is huge demand for us
company-wide. I'm transitioning to Implementation Project Manager, my
second is
transitioning in the doc lead role, one of our intermediate TWs is moving to
a
TW/BA role on a key project, two others are taking leadership roles on a
bunch
of new stuff, we have FOUR interns starting on September 6 and another key
project scheduled to start and about half a dozen that could go live at any
second. They also put new business analysts and developers transitioning to
analyst/architect roles in the doc group so they can improve their
communication
skills and writing and learn what they need to know in addition to their
piece
of code - those people are moving in and out all the time. (I wouldn't want
anyone to think we're hiring all the time because people don't stay - we
have
less than 7% turnover as a company, which is virtually miraculous for an IT
company.)

There are several career paths for writerly folk at Castek. For this
particular
job, we're looking for someone who wants a path that leads from Intermediate
Writer to more of a Business Analyst role. By business analyst, I mean
someone
who works with customers to discover and document their requirements,
processes
and needs, and then can come back and communicate those requirements,
processes
and needs to the people who need to know them to create solutions. As BAs
get
more senior, they participate more and more in the creation of those
solutions.

Techwriter/BAs also create most of our design documentation, provide
training
for customers and internally, and do a lot of work on process engineering,
as
well as function as leads for user doc and online help teams within
projects.
This will grow into a dream job for an energetic generalist with strong
business solution focus, who loves content and technology as well as
communicating.

There is a lot to learn, here - you'll start off with 4-6 weeks intensive
training just to get started.

If you know anyone else who might be interested, please pass this ad on.
Posting below. Please respond to me; email or fax is best. We don't
generally
provide relocation assistance. PLEASE INCLUDE A COVER LETTER!
