ANNOUNCEMENT

Since there have been several threads on single-sourcing lately,
we thought you might want to know about a tool we've created
to help you get your single-sourcing efforts off the ground more
quickly. If you aren't interested in single-sourcing (creating several
documents from one document) or FrameMaker templates,
please delete this message.

********
On September 15, 1999 Simply Written, developers of the
Clustar (tm) Method for single-source documentation, will release the
Clustar (tm) Companion Toolkit--a set of 21 FrameMaker templates
optimized for single-sourcing. This Toolkit is used as part of our
training and implementation plan for companies that are ready
to save money by making one document do the work of many.

The output of these templates is easily sent to converters like mif2go or
Webworks.

The three template types (print, PDF optimized, and WinHelp)
will include masters for a Cover, a Table of Contents, a List of
Figures, a List of Tables, a basic Chapter, a basic Appendix,
and an Index. The Clustar Companion Toolkit will also include
an extensive description of the various templates, tags,
master pages, etc.

Each template in the Clustar (tm) Companion Toolkit helps
you quickly produce documents once you have developed the
upfront specifications for your single-source documentation.
You can easily customize the templates for your specific
environment or Simply Written can give you a cost estimate for
doing the tweaking for you.

Special Announcement

If you purchase the Clustar Companion Toolkit before December 31st,
you'll get a Word template that you can give to those Microsoft
Word addicts who don't want to learn FrameMaker!
