In converting Word to PDF, bookmarks don't line up correctly

I'm having a problem with bookmarks in Adobe Acrobat. When I convert Word
documents to PDFs, the bookmarks don't line up right. Clicking the bookmark
takes you just below the heading, so that the heading either does not appear
or is half cut off, forcing me to set the bookmarks/destinations manually.
Does anyone know why the bookmarks sometimes don't format correctly when
converting Word documents to PDF? Thanks,
