What Document Management System Are You Using?

I am looking for feedback from any and all writers - Our Document Managment software is not meeting our expectations and it is time for us to look for a new Document Management system. I am wondering what software everyone is using and what your level of satisfaction is with the software - it would be nice to know what you like about the software and maybe identify the downfalls if there are any. We are looking to migrate to an authoring tool to manage content(ie: FrameMaker) and have a supporting Document Management System. Currently we compile a variety of documents into an all inclusive PDF for hard copy delivery to our clients (we are using Insite created by Eskudos).

Thank you for your feedback in advance...

Actually I am a beginner

Actually I am a beginner myself concerning document management systems, my job requires me to handle it very well. It was quite difficult but I managed to get good training in learning document management system. May be you can find your answer there...

"Alfresco" document management system

I am currently running a trial installation of "Alfresco" as a document management system for the IT department of a major UK company. We are very pleased with it so far.

It's open-source based and is customisable and scalable. It can run on any server platform and integrates seamlessly with a Windows file system.

It's easy to use and has been well-accepted by the technical community it is meant to serve.
