Today I spent a few hours reading several pages on Wikipedia that have to do with technical writing. Some of them had links to TECHWR-L. Where they didn't, I added them.
I created new pages for some legendary figures in the field of technical communication - Robert E. Horn, the founder of Information Mapping, and John Carroll, the creator of Minimalism.
I also wrote a Wikipedia page on Minimalism, the core idea that we should write task-oriented documentation that helps users get the job done, not huge reference works that document every aspect of a product or system.
Structured writing, which identifies best practices for dozens of standard document types, did not have a Wikipedia page, so I added one.
