Mike Schwinghammer MEDIA ADVISORY WHO: WHAT: PHOENIX – February 24, 2008 Many professional communicators are being asked to take on new responsibilities that require the ability not only to communicate effectively with targeted audiences, but also to lead multi-disciplinary teams necessary for highly complex communication and documentation projects. Communicators are fully qualified to support, provide expertise, coordinate and/or manage the preparation and submittal of formal proposals and grant applications to provide products or services in response to solicitations issued by government agencies or corporations. Professional communicators have the right mix of skills to contribute to, write and manage winning proposals. All that’s needed is knowledge of the “language” and steps in proposal or grant preparation and submittal. This presentation provides an introduction to proposal terms and requirements as well as lessons learned when coordinating proposals virtually and interpreting government solicitation instructions.
