Part-time, work from home, too good to be true?I'm looking for a way to earn a little extra money at home with a part-time job. I have looked into data entry jobs that are offered through sites like indeed.com (my personal favorite) and others, but they seem to be scams. Every time I inquire about the job, I am asked to pay a fee to even learn about the offer, and it makes me doubt the legitimacy of the company. I'm not sure if this is the right forum to be asking, but I'm starting to lose hope that I'll ever find a legitimate way to earn a few extra bucks at home on weekends or after work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. By erincallaway at 2008-04-08 12:47 | Employment General | erincallaway's blog | login or register to post comments | printer friendly version
"Pay to play" jobsIf they are asking for money up front, it's a scam. Period. Finding work from home is tough. Most of the people that I know who do it are long-term employees that put in their time (years) in the office or are independent businesspeople that work under contract. Pay to play? No Way!I was looking for a weekend job I could do from home. I wound up writing for a small town newspaper. Thanks to the internet, I can often work remotely. |

I agree with the above
I agree with the above posters that any ad that asks you to pay before they tell you about writing jobs is a scam. As for making a few bucks in the evenings or weekends, gather.com has a points reward system for participating on their site; helium.com is a place where you can practice writing for pay; and there are blogs out there looking for contributors who will split ad revenues with you based on hits.
Good luck!
