Subject: Re: Ethics and Job-Hunting
Companies that I wouldn't work for:
PETA--long history of violence
*** So on the same grounds, you must also eliminate the government and
military, as well as quite a few multinational companies (Shell, Bechtel,
and Mobil come immediately to mind)
National Organization for Women--allegedly supports
equality and choices for women; in reality, supports
unprovoked, non-self-defense, physical and verbal
attacks on men
*** Yeah, but think of all the chicks you might meet. (From the tone of your
posting, you need all the help you can get.)
Any company that refuses to fire employees who take
illegal drugs
*** Before or after they're tried in a court of law by a jury of their
peers? Please clarify.
Any company that actively promotes employees based on
gender, race, or sexuality, instead of performance
*** Hear, hear! For way too long, promotions have gone to straight white
males for those very reasons. I agree - it's time to level the playing
field! (And I'm a straight white male. Yikes!)
