Roxanne

I am sure that you have done quite a bit of writing as a software engineer.

What types of docs did you write: Proposals, requirements specs, functional
descriptions, help stuff, training materials?

I did all of those and more.

Reslant your resume to emphasize the different types of documents
you wrote in support of your 'primary' job.

I have a resume that is not 'oriented to tech writing' but covers
the full range of things that I can do. "Jack of all trades, master of
several!"

I get the question "I see you have done some writing, are you
interested in the opportunity that I have?"

As a tech writer you HAVE to wear many hats.
Your resume describes the hats.

I have put into my resume "Documentation Specialist" and have
gotten a good deal of interest, because I understand "Documents".
