For an article I'm writing, would you mind answering the following
questions? You may reply to me privately if you wish:

1. In what ways have you, as a technical communicator, been influenced
(or
not influenced) by academic research articles?

2. What are the differences between what you were taught about technical

communication in an academic environment and what you face as a
practitioner
on a day-to-day basis?

3. In what ways could technical communication academics and academic
research be more relevant to your day-to-day needs?

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Deborah S. Bosley
Technical Communications' Consultant
