Bonita asks:
I need hardware requirement information, please....
So, what should I ask for as far as system requirements are
concerned? I want to know what you think for memory, disk space, the
whole nine yards.

FWIW, I suggest asking for the biggest, fastest, and best that they are
willing to get for you. Also, in case you haven't thought about it, you
might ask for it all on a laptop. Now before you all poo-poo laptops, let me
explain.
I had a desktop system at work 196 RAM, 18 GB HD, Pentium III, blah, blah,
blah. I had a similar configuration at home (in case I needed to work at
home). Problem occurred when the software product got so big that I couldn't
take the time to download it anymore, and I did not have a zip drive. I
ended up being limited on what kind of work I could do at home.
Now, not everyone cares if they can work from home or not. Since I have two
daughters, I have to be available for "sick watch" and no school days. I
recently asked for and received a laptop. It is a great!!!! Machine. It is a
Dell Inspirion 5000, with 256 RAM, 650 MHz, 15" SUPER XGA+ screen, 18 GB HD,
and a 52 hr. battery. I connect to the network at the office and use a
docking station (although I don't have to because you can connect your own
mouse or keyboard right into the back of the laptop - I just like to use
both my erog keyboard and mouse). At home I use the keyboard from my home
machine and the laptop's touch-pad mouse. It is great. The picture on the
laptop is actually clearer than the one on my 19 inch monitor at the office!
And, I never have to worry about having the latest and greatest build of the
software product because I whatever I get at work comes right home with me.
So that is my 2 cents. Hope it gives you food for thought.
