Robyn Schell asked about guides for estimating costs to develop web pages.

William Horton's excellent "Designing and Writing Online Documentation" doesn't
directly go into cost estimating, but sprinkled through the chapters are sections on
the process, which you can translate into your own costs. The problem is, as others
have pointed out, what it is that you're creating and what you're using as source
material. As with regular documentation, creating from scratch costs more than
lifting and translating. And creating graphics from scratch can be even more
costly. The more you can lift and adapt, the less expensive.
