Subject:How to Tame Long Word Doc with Multiple Styles? From:Robert Kennedy <deutschtoenglish -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Mon, 1 Jan 2001 19:18:20 -0800 (PST)
Hello All,
I need to reformat and edit a mess of a document.
It's about 200 pages and has been cobbled together by
non-tech writers from at LEAST 5 disparate sources.
(It's on network security.)
The "security" guy who did the pasting says that
he's had it -- every time he tries to insert text
into a part of the document, "something disappears."
(It's been converted to Text, not RTF, and it will
have to be posted on the web.) Unfortunately, I have
not worked with many long Word documents before.
Can someone help me out with steps 1, 2, and 3?
Should I first scan the document for styles and
remove conflicts from "Tools"? HELP!
Best,
Robert
