I've partially answered my own question -- I had embedded tables that were
annoying Acrobat. I'll have to fix this, but I found a temporarily
workaround in converting the tables back into text and manually reformatting
(sigh).

I have an eight-page release notes Word document that I cannot convert to
.pdf format.

It seems to be hanging in the conversion process. While this is a much more
complex Word document than many others I've converted, there appears to be
no good reason why the process is hanging. The document is "complaining"
about all hyperlinks to itself and to other documents -- the screen keeps
flashing. I've tried removing the links and retyping them to no avail.

I'm using Office 2000, Word 2000, and Acrobat 4.05.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong? Feel free to contact
me directly if you prefer.
